A road bike or endurance bike is ideal for this on-road training ride. We recommend bikes with compact gearing to help with the climbs. How does altitude affect the ride, and how can I prepare?

The ride takes place at moderate altitudes, typically between 1,000 and 2,000 meters. While this isn’t high enough to cause altitude sickness for most people, you may notice that climbing feels more challenging than at sea level. We recommend arriving in Marrakech a day or two early to acclimatize and stay well-hydrated throughout your trip.
